26 March 2008 NDS8 Appoints New Business Development Manager
Leading Novell Platinum Partner, NDS8 has appointed a new Business Development Manager. Neil Mackenzie joins the company with over 20 years experience in the high technology and consultancy markets.
“This appointment marks a significant step in the development of NDS8,” commented Managing Director Mike Hinton. “Neil brings a lot of experience of developing new business and account management and of supporting customers across all the markets that NDS8 is focused on today and in the future.”
Prior to joining the company Neil built up a reputation with an Edinburgh based business development and sales process consultancy assisting a number of technology companies achieve significant growth through the implementation of sound processes and planning. Neil has also worked directly for technology companies successfully managing large customer accounts and developing new business.
Away from work Neil has a long held interest in motor sports, where he used to help train aspiring rally drivers and motorcycle sidecar combination riders, as well as a more than passing interest in athletics, football, and rugby.

7 January 2008 West Lothian College Selects NDS8 For Support
West Lothian College based in Livingston in the Central Belt of Scotland has selected leading Novell Platinum Partner, NDS8, to provide its IT support following an open tender process.
NDS8 will be providing the college with full Novell solutions support to ensure that the college achieves maximum value from its Novell computing assets. This follows on from an initial IT Healthcheck when NDS8 carried out a full in depth analysis and review of the installed systems and made recommendations as to how maximum benefit could be achieved.
“We selected NDS8 because of their deep technical capability which gave us confidence that they would be able to provide us with the support that a leading academic centre requires. In addition their bid offered us real value for money,” said Margaret Tierney, Director of Organisational Development at West Lothian College.
West Lothian College uses Novell’s GroupWise, Clustering, Netware and E-directory solutions to provide full e-mail and collaboration capability. In addition the college has deployed Blackberry’s enterprise server solution to provide staff with a mobile e-mail capability.
With over 8000 enrolments in an academic year studying subjects from business through care, creative industries to management West Lothian College was looking for a consultancy able to ensure that its assets functioned to maximum effect and provided a good return on investment.
